Cracking The GSM Encryption on a second

One of the interesting topic on Information Security Conference, Hack In The Box Security Conference (HITBSecConf) in Dubai 2008, was the topic about, Cracks the GSM A5/1 Encryption on a second. This Topic Hosted by Skyper, one of the German Hacker Group “The Hacker Choice” and also Ex-Editor Hacking Magazine “Phrack”.

Actually, cracking The GSM A5/1 Encryption was the one of sub-topic in HITBSecConf. Skyper  discussed The Security Aspect of GSM Network. Using handy tool such a Nokia 3310 Phone, USRP/GNU Radio, FPGA, and others, Skyper and his companion do a research about GSM security technology were close source.

Beside Discussed his research result, Skyper also explain the dangerous that could happen when some hacker know that GSM Encryption can be cracks easilly with simple tools.
